Photograph inscribed and signed: "For Richard/Best Wishes/Anne Jeffreys". B/w, 5x7 overall,
image 5x6 (one surface). 13-cent Olympic stamp affixed to verso, postmarked Los Angeles,
California, October 21, 1984. Addressed by Jeffreys to: "Richard Barkley Jr., 166 DeSoto
Pl., Macon, GA. 31204". In 1984, Jeffreys appeared as Rita Hargrove in the TV series,
Finder of Lost Loves (1984-1985). Trained in voice at an early age, Anne Jeffreys
(1923-2017) had her first movie role in the tuneful Rodgers & Hart adaptation of I Married
an Angel (1942). After appearing in a series of "B" westerns and crime films, she turned to
symphonic and stage work including Tosca, Street Scene and the Broadway musical My
Romance. Jeffreys and her husband, Robert Sterling, appeared in the TV version of
Topper, television's first fantasy sitcom (1953-1955). She has continued to appear on
television, both as a regular and in guest appearances on a long list of shows. Creased at right
margin and upper left corner, which is worn. Postal markings across front, touching "h" of
Richard, "he" of Wishes and "ey" of Jeffreys" and at hair and clothing. Corners lightly worn
and creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
