American sculptor Anne Whitney (1821-1915) was born in Watertown, Massachusetts. Her most famous works include the Samuel Adams statue in the National Statuary Hall of Collection in Washington, D.C. and the "Leif the Discover" statue in Boston, Massachusetts. She was also a prominent social reformer who was active in the women's suffrage movement. Normal mailing fold. Lightly toned and worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
