ANTHONY CHARLES BARTLEY The WWII veteran and television show producer and writer signed this check paid in the amount of $500 to Les Ambassadeurs Check Signed: “A.C. Bartley” in ink. 6x2¾. Dated May 22, 1955. Paid to Les Ambassadeurs in the amount of $500. He probably spent the $500 at a casino by that name located in London, England, United Kingdom. Anthony Charles Bartley (1919-2001) was born in India, the son of a judge of the Calcutta High Court. After serving in WWII with the Royal Air Force (RAF), Bartley married actress Deborah Kerr in 1945. This relationship led him to Hollywood, where he trained to work in show business. He earned some production and writing credits, most notably Assignment: Foreign Legion (1956-1957), a show that primarily aired in the United Kingdom. He worked in a number of other positions in the industry, primarily involved in the marketing and distribution of productions in Europe and internationally. Bartley and Kerr ended their marriage in 1958. He wrote two books about his experiences in WWII. Regular hole punches and perforation. Otherwise, fine condition.
