Check Signed: "A.C. Bartley" in ink. 8x3½. Dated December 25, 1952. Decorated in celebration of Christmas. Paid to Matty Anderson in the amount of $20. Anthony Charles Bartley (1919-2001) was born in India, the son of a judge of the Calcutta High Court. After serving in WWII with the Royal Air Force (RAF), Bartley married actress Deborah Kerr in 1945. This relationship led him to Hollywood, where he trained to work in show business. He earned some production and writing credits, most notably Assignment: Foreign Legion (1956-1957), a show that primarily aired in the United Kingdom. He worked in a number of other positions in the industry, primarily involved in the marketing and distribution of productions in Europe and internationally. Bartley and Kerr ended their marriage in 1958. He wrote two books about his experiences in WWII. Regular cancellation holes and perforation. Otherwise, fine condition.
