Autograph note signed: "Tony Holland" in black ink. 1 page, 4x6. In full: "Dear Mr. Willis, Thank you for including me - ". Actor Anthony Holland (1928-1988) was best known for his comedic roles in theatre, film and television. He was a member of the original Second City comedy troupe, and made his Broadway debut in My Mother, My Father and Me (1963) and went on to perform in plays such as Division Street (1980), and We Bombed in New Haven (1968). Holland's best known performance was in The Hunger Artist (1987) and is a co-writer of the comedy As Is (1985). His screen credits include All That Jazz (1979), Klute (1971) and The Tempest (1982), and on television he appeared in The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1975), M*A*S*H (1973), and Hill Street Blues (1986). Holland committed suicide in 1988. John A. Willis (1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and film historians of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the Tony Awards. Theatre World, which received its own Tonyfor Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges. Toned. Light surface creases. Fine condition.
