ANTHONY LACIURA
Opera star poses as one of his Metropolitan Opera characters, signs

Inscribed photograph signed: "Alice/ Many thanks/ Anthony
Laciura" in black felt tip. B/w, 8x10. Actor and operatic-tenor Anthony
Laciura (b. 1951) made his opera debut in 1965 at the New Orleans Opera
Association's alongside stars Dorothy Kirsten and Norman Treigle. His next big
debut would be Opening Night of the 1982-1983 season with the Metropolitan
Opera, with which he would appear with over 800 times in productions such as
Der Rosenkavalier (1982), Le nozze di Figaro (1985),
Turandot (1987), I Lombardi alla prima crociata (1993)
(alongside Luciano Pavarotti), and Wozzeck (2001); his final
Met performance was in The Gambler (2008). Laciura is perhaps best
known, however, for his role on the hit HBO-series Boardwalk Empire
(2010-2013) where he plays Eddie Kessler, butler to Steve Buscemi's Nucky
Thompson. Corners slightly rounded. Fine condition.
