Photograph signed: "Anthony Perkins". B/w, 10x8 overall, image 10x7¼ (one surface). Publicity still for the 1975 film, Mahogany, in which Perkins starred as Sean. ©1975, Paramount Pictures Corporation. Captioned at lower margin. Stage, screen and television actor Anthony Perkins (1932-1992) began his film career auspiciously with roles in Friendly Persuasion (Oscar nomination, 1956), Fear Strikes Out (1957) and On the Beach (1958). He won the Best Actor award at the Cannes festival for Aimez-Vous Brahms? (1961). However, Perkins' career was forever changed by his powerful performance as inn-keeper Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 suspense thriller, Psycho. Many of his subsequent performances were Psycho sequels and other creepy roles. Perkins died of complications from AIDS in 1992. His wife, Berry Berenson, who had appeared in four films with Perkins, was killed aboard one of the hijacked airliners on September 11, 2001. Lightly creased at blank margins and corners. Overall, fine condition.
