Captioned magazine photograph, b/w, 3½x1¼, affixed at upper right margin of Quinn's side, captioned magazine photograph, b/w, 3½x1¼, affixed beneath signature on Stewart's side. Mexican-born actor ANTHONY QUINN (1915-2001) portrayed peasants and other memorable, earthy characters in a 65-year film acting career. He earned Academy Awards as Best Supporting Actor for Viva Zapata (1952) and Lust for Life (1956), and Quinn was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for Wild is the Wind (1957) and for his most fondly remembered role as the title character in Zorba the Greek (1964). The second of Quinn's memoirs, One Man Tango (1997), was candid and apologetic about events in his tempestuous private life. Quinn was also a talented painter. JAMES "JIMMY" STEWART (1908-1997) starred in more recognized masterpieces of the American cinema than any other actor. In 1940, he won the Best Actor Academy Award for The Philadelphia Story,and Stewart was nominated for Oscars in the same category for Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), It's A Wonderful Life (1946), Harvey (1950) and Anatomy of a Murder (1959). He was awarded an Honorary Academy Award in 1984. George Sanders was a West Coast radio/TV interview host who collected autographs from guests on his show. Lightly creased. Light show through of writing. Horizontal shading touches Stewart's signature and writing (all legible), lighter shading at the "A" of Anthony and some of Quinn's writing. ¼-inch tear at blank left edge of Quinn's side. Ink notes (unknown hand) at lower left corners. Irregular upper edge from removal from bound book. Overall, fine condition.
