ANTHONY QUINN
The Academy Award winning actor is shown in a black and white publicity photograph for the 1960 film Portrait in Black.
Inscribed Photograph signed: "To Warren/Anthony Quinn". B/w, 8x10. Publicity photograph for the 1960 crime drama, Portrait in Black, which starred Quinn as Dr. David Rivera, who injects poison into an ailing industrialist - the husband of his lover. ©1960, Universal International. Captioned at lower margin. Mexican-born actor Anthony Quinn (1915-2001) portrayed peasants and other memorable, earthy characters in a 65-year film acting career. He earned Academy Awards as Best Supporting Actor for Viva Zapata (1952) and Lust for Life (1956), and Quinn was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for Wild is the Wind (1957) and for his most fondly remembered role as the title character in Zorba the Greek (1964). The second of Quinn's memoirs, One Man Tango (1997), was candid and apologetic about events in his tempestuous private life. Quinn was also a talented painter. Lightly creased at blank margins and corners, black mark at upper left corner. Minor surface creases and striations. Horizontal striations at facial image and writing, light crease at eyebrow. Otherwise, fine condition.
