The actor is shown in a scene from the 1965 film A High Wind in Jamaica in this black and white publicity photograph.
Photograph signed: "Anthony Quinn". B/w, 8x10. Publicity photograph for the 1965 film, A High Wind in Jamaica, which starred Quinn as Captain Chavez, a pirate who loots a ship and inadvertently picks up two children of a British couple (including Deborah Baxter, also pictured, as ten-year-old Emily). ©1965, 20th Century-Fox Film Corporation. Captioned at lower margin. Mexican-born actor Anthony Quinn (1915-2001) portrayed peasants and other memorable, earthy characters in a 65-year film acting career. He earned Academy Awards as Best Supporting Actor for Viva Zapata (1952) and Lust for Life (1956), and Quinn was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for Wild is the Wind (1957) and for his most fondly remembered role as the title character in Zorba the Greek (1964). The second of Quinn's memoirs, One Man Tango (1997), was candid and apologetic about events in his tempestuous private life. Quinn was also a talented painter. Lightly creased at blank margins and corners, light black mark at upper left corner. Minor surface creases (most not evident head on). Pencil marks (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Otherwise, fine condition.
