The photographer who married Princess Margaret of Great Britain signs this typed letter stating that he was pleased with the outcome of some photographs that were sent to him
Typed letter signed: "Tony Armstrong-Jones" in blue ink, 1p, 7x9. London, 1959 January 21. To Mr. Gee. In full: "I have just got back from America to find the photographs you used in 35mm. PHOTOGRAPHY. I am so pleased you treated them the way you did and I hope you were pleased about the final result. Yours very sincerely." Typed postscript: "P.S. Of course there is no reproduction fee for the above." Written the year before British photographer ANTONY ARMSTRONG-JONES married Princess Margaret on May 6, 1960. Known for his informal pictures of famous people, the photographer was created 1st Earl of Snowdon in 1961. He and Princess Margaret, who had two children, divorced in 1978 after a two-year separation. Lord Snowdon, whose photographs appear in a number of books, including several of his own, has gained recent acclaim for his sensitive portrayals of handicapped and underprivileged individuals. Mr. Gee is likely RICHARD GEE, the editor of a number of British photography yearbooks. Gee's own photographs appeared in a book on 35mm photography in 1961. Light type transference at blank areas. Slightly soiled at lower margin and blank mid-right edge, light stain at upper right blank edge. Vertical fold touches "n" of "Tony". Otherwise, fine condition.
