APPLAUSE PLAY CAST
American playwright Adolph Green and three cast members sign on this Playbill of the Broadway musical Applause.
Show bill signed: "Penny/Fuller", "Len Cariou", "Adolph/Green", "Lee Roy Reams", 49 pages, 6x9. Play Bill for a production of Applause at the Palace Theatre in New York. PENNY FULLER first appeared on Broadway in the 1960s, including the role of a replacement Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Starring roles came later, including Tony award nominations as Best Featured Actress for Applause (1970) and The Dinner Party (2001). She scored Drama Desk nominations for Three Viewings (1995) and A New Brain (1999). She won Emmy awards for TV productions of The Elephant Man (1982) and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1985). LEN CARIOU (b. 1939) made his first Broadway appearance in 1968 (The House of Atreus) and received his first television credit in 1977. Since then, he has enjoyed a successful career in both Broadway and Hollywood, winning the 1979 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for Sweeney Todd. He was nominated for a 1970 Tony Award for Applause and a 1973 Tony Award for A Little Night Music. Nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2009, his screen credits include Star Trek: Voyager (1997), About Schmidt (2002), Damages (2010) and Blue Bloods (2010-2012). ADOLPH GREEN (1914-2002) was an American playwright and lyricist, often working in collaboration with Betty Comden. He studied drama at New York University, eventually going on to write his first Broadway musical On The Town (1944), which produced the classic song "New York, New York". However, Green's most remembered production was Singin' In The Rain (1952), a movie so well regarded that is still considered one of the best movie musicals of all time. Playing as Duane Fox in the musical, LEE ROY REAMS (b. 1942) is a Tony nominated actor and singer, most known for playing in the original production of 42nd Street in 1980. Reams career consisted of mostly Broadway plays, acting in plays such as Oklahoma! (1969), La Cage aux Folles (1983), and Beauty and the Beast (1994). Presently, Reams serves as the resident director of the Theatre at Sea program. Light toning. Fine condition.
