Signature of the famous American writer and film producer, creator of the radio series Lights Out. Extremely rare!
Signature: "Arch Oboler", 4x2¾ sheet with a clipped cartoon character drawing. Arch Oboler (1909-1987) was a screenwriter, playwright, novelist, producer and director who was active in radio, films, theatre and television from the 1940s through the 1970s. Oboler is best known for his radio horror series Lights Out and Bewitched (1945). He's also well regarded for the Oboler Comedy Theatre (1949), The Arnelo Affair (1947), Our Merry way (1948) and The Bubble (1966). He worked with various big names in Hollywood, including Dick Powell, Bob Hope, Edward G. Robinson, Gary Cooper, and Mae West who was involved in a censorship incident in 1937 when she and Don Ameche portrayed bawdy impressions of Adam and Eve on The Chase and Sanborn Hour. Oboler, who wrote the script for the skit, received nationwide criticism for what was seen as an indecent satire of the Biblical story. The skit was banned from NBC for 15 years. Toned.
