CLAUDETTE COLBERT had showed her flair for sophisticated comedy by winning the1934 Academy Award for Best Actressfor It Happened One Night. The other signers are a cross section of Commonwealth talent. English actress PAGETT has starred on the big screen (Operation Daybreak, 1978; Privates On Parade, 1982) and will be remembered by PBS fans for her role in the popular BBC import, Upstairs, Downstairs. GOUGH,(1916-2011) born in colonial Malaya to British parents, played the butler Alfred in all four of the Batman films, and seems to have appeared in every British import with a cult following on American TV: The Saint, The Avengers, Dr. Who RYAN (1919-1994) was discovered by Laurence Olivier on a tour of her native Australia. Her film credits include This Is My Street (1964) and A Clockwork Orange (1971). She appeared in the BBC miniseries A Horseman Riding By and guest starred on such programs as The Saint and The Avengers. MATTHEWS appeared, mostly in second leads, in films like Bhowani Junction (1958), Crossplot (1969) and The McGuffin (1985). Besides guest roles in The Saint and The Avengers, he starred as Captain Scarlett on independent British television's Captain Scarlett and the Mysterons (1967-1968, and in syndication ever since). Englishman PRICE mainly a stage actor with several Shakespearean roles to his credit, was also a director and producer. He is prominently featured in Mad Dog's and Englishmen the 1971 documentary film on rocker Joe Cocker's tour of the U.S.A. LAMBERT has starred in such cerebral films as The Draughtsman's Contract (1982) and Breathing Under Water (1991). Too young for The Saint or The Avengers, she was featured on, you guessed it, Dr. Who. Lightly creased. Staple holes at mid-vertical folds of some pages. Overall, fine condition.
