ARLENE DAHL
Arlene Dahl sends a typed letter to a fan explaining that she has
been in Europe.
Typed Letter Signed: "Arlene Dahl", 1p, 7¼x10½. No place,
1973 September 8. On her personal letterhead to Albert Manski, Boston,
Massachusetts. In full: "Thank you for your very nice letter. Please
excuse the delay in my response, but I've been in Europe for three months. It's
always good to know that the films made in the past have pleased audiences.
Enclosed is an autographed playbill from my recent appearance in
'Applause' as well as an autographed 8x10 photograph." Enclosures
mentioned are not present. Redheaded actress Arlene Dahl was a film star of the
late 1940s and 1950s. Her roles included The Outriders (1950),
Sangaree (1953, opposite future husband Fernando Lamas) and
Slightly Scarlet (1956). She then turned her attention more to beauty
advising and the cosmetics business. When Dahl returned to films after a long
absence (Night of the Warrior, 1991), it was to appear with her son,
actor Lorenzo Lamas. Creased. Ink has run at the "a" in
Dahl.
