ARLENE GOLONKA
This handwritten letter is signed by the actress who starred in The Andy Griffith Show
Autograph Letter Signed: "Arlene Golonka". 6¼x8¾. Two pages. In Full: "Peace, what a beautiful word - I pray & meditate on this word. I feel we all must know in our heart & soul that 'Peace on Earth' will be!!! And we all are Brothers & Sisters & God will make it so. I also want to add that when I was twelve years old, washing dishes & making salads at a settlement house in Chicago - a social worker asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up - I answered 'Probably a wife & mother but in my soul I would love to be an actress'. The social worker took me by the shoulders & shook me hard & said 'You can be whatever you want to be' & here I am an actress / working in Hollywood for many years. I truly believe if you work hard & go after what you want to be & love what you want to be - 'You can Be Whatever you want to Be'. God gave me a miracle & my dream come true. I pray that yours does too". Arlene Golonka (1936-2021) is an actress who made her screen debut in a 1959 episode of The United States Steel Hour. She's probably best known for her role as Millie Hutchins in The Andy Griffith Show (in 1967) and in Mayberry R.F.D. (1968-1971). Film credits include Hang'Em High (1968) and A Family Affair (2001). Edges slightly worn and creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
