Royal Air Force commemorative envelope, signed by five of its wartime night fighter foes
Commemorative Envelope signed: "Arnold Doring", "Jupp Putzkuhl", "Gunther Radusch", "Hans Rasper" and "Heinze Rokker", 6½x4¼. Special Cover honoring the 55th anniversary of the first British night bomber squadron (1917) and the Vickers Wellington bomber. Postmarked Bomber Command, February 5, 1972, with affixed 3-pence stamp observing the 50th anniversary of the British Legion. Ink stamps on verso identify (in German) the signers and their accomplishments. Inside envelope are b/w photos of signers and their aircraft. DORING, a bomber pilot early in the war, scored 23 night victories. PUTZKUHL had 63 night victories, 7 on one mission. RADUSCH scored 63 night victories, plus one more in the Spanish Civil War. ROKKER notched 64 victories, 63 of them at night. RASPER was a night-fighter instructor. Lightly worn at corners. Adhesive residue at lower right corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
