Golf legend JACK NICKLAUS, who played professionally from 1962-1999, captured 71 PGA official tour victories and won several international events, including the British Open, the Australian Open (1964, 1968, 1971, 1975, 1976, 1978), the World Series of Golf (1962, 1963, 1967, 1970, 1976) and the Ryder Cup. His major titles include a record six Masters, five PGA Championships and four U.S. Opens. ARNOLD PALMER, the first to capture four Masters titles (1958, 1960, 1962, 1964), made 48 consecutive Masters starts. He also competed in 19 international tours, winning the British Open in 1961 and 1962. Palmer has had 60 wins on the PGA Tour and 10 more on the Senior Tour. The first golfer to earn more than $1,000,000 in PGA tournament money, Palmer is credited with popularizing professional golf during the late 1950s and 1960s. His large and enthusiastic following of fans became known as "Arnie's Army". South African golfer GARY PLAYER won 24 PGA tournaments (1958-1978), including seven majors. He won all four of the most prestigious events: the British Open (1959, 1968, 1971, 1974), the Masters (1961, 1978), the PGA (1962-1971) and the U.S. Open (1965). BILLY CASPER had 51 tournament wins, including the U.S. Open (1959, 1966) and the Masters (1970), and he was named PGA Player of the Year in 1966 and 1970. After joining the Senior Tour in 1982, Casper won nine tournaments, including the U.S. Senior Open (1983) and the Senior Players Championship (1988). Known for his excellent putting skills, Casper also won the Canadian Open (1967) and was on the U.S. Ryder Cup team eight times (he was non-playing team captain in 1979). LEE TREVINO, born 1939 and also known as "SuperMex", won 27 PGA tournaments, including six major championships: the U.S. Open (1968, 1971), the British Open (1971, 1972) and the PGA Championship (1974, 1984). After joining the Senior Tour (now the Champions Tour) in 1990, he surpassed his PGA totals, winning 29 tournaments. Also a member of seven Ryder Cup teams (and Captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team in 1985), Trevino was inducted into the PGA's World Golf Hall of Fame in 1981. Puerto Rican golfer JUAN "CHI CHI" RODRIGUEZ, one of the most popular figures in sports, had eight PGA Tour victories (1963-1979) and won 22 senior (now Champions Tour) tournaments (1986-1993). His charitable foundation has raised more than $5 million for children. Seven items. Presented in Gallery of History pedestal style: base, 21½x12½x1¼; balls in 2x2x2-inch cases.
