card. Palmer, the first to capture four Masters titles (1958, 1960, 1962,
1964), also competed in 19 international tours, winning the British Open in
1961 and 1962. He has had 60 wins on the PGA Tour and 10 more on the Senior
Tour; and made 48 consecutive Masters starts. Palmer was the first golfer to
earn more than $1,000,000 in PGA tournament money. He is credited with
popularizing professional golf during the late 1950s and 1960s. His large and
enthusiastic following of fans became known as "Arnie's Army". Pencil note
