In full: "Thank you very much for your letter of September 20th and the enclosed newspaper clippings. I just hope that some time I will get to go through all of the clippings I have piled up to put them in a scrapbook as they should be. It is people such as you who enable me to keep a representative number of these clippings and I thank you for your interest" Legendary golfer Arnold Palmer (1929-2016) won seven major championships during his career, including four Masters Tournament (1958, 1960, 1962, 1964). His 62 PGA Tour victories rank fifth all time, behind Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and Sam Snead. Palmer was the first golfer to earn more than $1,000,000 in PGA tournament money. He is credited with popularizing professional golf during the late 1950s and 1960s. Palmer even has a drink named after him! Light pencil notes (unknown hand) at upper right corner.
