Autograph Note signed: "To/ Kayo/ from your friend/ Arnold Stang" in blue ink, 4½x3 card. Magazine photograph, color, 1½x2¾, affixed at left. Comedian and stage, screen, and television actor Arnold Stang (1925-2009) had worked steadily on radio in supporting roles to Eddie Cantor, Jack Benny, and Milton Berle before moving to television with Berle from 1953-1955. Stang, who had first appeared on the Broadway stage at the age of 12, made his film debut in My Sister Eileen (1942). He would go on to appear in a considerable number of movies including Dondi (1961), It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), Ghost Dad (1990), and Dennis the Menace (1993), as well as The Man With the Golden Arm (1955), in which he played Frank Sinatra's loyal pal, Sparrow. Additionally, Stang was heard in a long list of features as the voice of "Herman" in Paramount's "Herman and Katnip" films, and he voiced the "Hoiman" character for TV's Matty's Funday Funnies (1959), for which he was also a writer. Furthermore, Stang voiced Top Cat (1961-1962), and he appeared as a guest star on a number of TV shows from sitcoms to Westerns, including a recurring role on The Goldbergs (1954-1955). Biographical notes in pencil in an unknown hand on verso (no show-through). Otherwise, fine condition.
