Seven signatures. Playbill for a production of Arsenic and Old Lace at the 46th Street Theatre, New York, signed by all on the front cover. Arsenic and Old Lace a black comedy written by Joseph Kesselring in 1939 and made into a 1941 film directed by Frank Capra, has been revived many times on many stages, translated into many languages. In this version, which ran for 221 Broadway performances in 1986, JEAN STAPLETON (1923-2013) and POLLY HOLLIDAY (b. 1937) played the murderous Brewster sisters, and ABE VIGODA (1921-2016) played their accomplice brother (a role originated by Boris Karloff). TONY ROBERTS (b. 1939) portrayed innocent drama critic Mortimer Brewster, trying to cope with his siblings and the police and get away for his honeymoon. Other parts represented here were "Officer Klein" (J. J. JOHNSTON, b. 1933), "Elaine Harper" (MARY LAYNE, b. 1950) and "Mr. Gibbs" (WILLIAM PRESTON, 1921-1998). Toned around edges. edges lightly frayed and worn, Corners worn. Minor smudges to "Stapleton" signature (legible). Otherwise, fine condition.
