Signature: "Best Wishes/Art Carney". Captioned magazine photograph, b/w with green hue, 3¾x3½, affixed on facing page. Signature page is headed: "Lovers". Carney was nominated for the 1969 Tony Award for Best Actor for Lovers, which ran on Broadway in 1968 and was nominated for a Tony for Best Play. Signed Saturday, April 12, 1969 at the Morris Mechanic Theater. 26 signatures in all! Covers, which are bound together with gold cord, are slightly creased and scratched. "AU" missing from "Autographs", which was affixed in gold letters on green felt rectangle on front cover. Some pages are lightly soiled, but overall fine condition except as noted above. Back of album has become detached from rest of album. With typed provenance, 2p, 8½x11. White has listed the date and place where each autograph was signed and has added his personal comments. Some sample comments: Don Ameche: "He was late for the show but he still stopped to sign my book, he was nice but much older looking than I thought"; Sid Caesar: "He was really nice, he looks a little mean, but he was'nt (sic)"; Peggy Fleming: "She was rather unfriendly but still signed at the stage door with a big signature." Lightly creased. Type has faded at upper portion of first page but is still legible. Two items.
