Self-Caricature signed: "Who/Knows?/Art Carney", in ink, 1p, 4x6. Art Carney (1918-2003) won three Emmy Awards for playing Jackie Gleason's pal Ed Norton on the popular The Honeymooners beginning in 1952. Carney, who never had an acting lesson, also appeared in such early television dramas as Suspense, Studio One, Kraft Theatre, Playhouse 90 and Climax! and created the role of Felix Unger in the Broadway version of The Odd Couple (1965). In 1974, the 57-year-old actor won the Best Actor Academy Award for his portrayal of Harry, a widower in his 70s who loses his Manhattan apartment and treks to Los Angeles with his aged cat Tonto, in Harry and Tonto.
