Self-Caricature signed: "Art Carney", 3x5 card. Pen and ink profile. Actor/comedian Art Carney (1918-2003) began his career as a comedian, moving into sidekick roles for others. After WWII, he worked on Broadway, both as a dramatic and comic actor, but Carney is most known for his TV work, beginning in 1948 with The Morey Amsterdam Show. He is best known for his role as Ed Norton, Jackie Gleason's pal, in the classic 1950s TV sitcom, The Honeymooners. Carney, who returned to Broadway and feature films after his stint with Gleason, won the Best Actor Academy Award for his performance as a 72-year-old in Harry and Tonto (1974). Carney also won several Emmys for his both his comic and dramatic work on TV. Fine condition.
