Donovan" in black ink. B/w, 5x6½. Art Donovan (1925-2013), who played
from 1950 to 1961, was one of the most popular players in his time. He was a
five-time All-NFL selection and five-time Pro Bowler, and he was
elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1968. Donovan was a member
of the Colts' title teams of 1958 and 1959, playing on the defensive line with
fellow Hall of Famer Gino Marchetti. Donovan may also be one of the most
traveled player in NFL history. He started with the Baltimore Colts in 1950.
They folded, so Donovan moved to the New York Yanks in 1951, who became the
Dallas Texans and 1952 and finally the new incarnation of the Baltimore Colts in
1953. His experiences after retirement are eclectic, including writing a
book, Fatso, being a guest commentator during the WWF's 1994 King of
the Ring and making a guest appearance on the Nickelodeon show The Adventures
of Pete and Pete. Deep crease through center. Light surface creases
