ART SCHLICHTER - AUTOGRAPHED INSCRIBED PHOTOGRAPH - HFSID 52517
Price: $90.00
ART SCHLICHTER. Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Bill
Wood,/Go Bucks!/Art Schlichter/#10". B/w, 8x10 overall, image 6x9¼ (one
surface). Pictured as Ohio State's star quarterback. Art Schlichter, who
was an All-American in 1982, was the Baltimore Colt's first-round
draft pick that year. In 1983, amid charges that he owed some $150,000 in
gambling debts, Schlichter was suspended. He returned to the Colts, who
had relocated to Indianapolis, in 1984, but was released the following season,
ending his professional career. A contemporary of John Elway and Dan Marino,
Schlichter has faced a myriad of legal troubles -- and spent time in jail - as a
result of his gambling problem. In July 2004, he was indicted in a
ticket-selling scam and ordered to pay back $500,000 to 22 victims who were
promised tickets to the Final Four. Minor surface creases (most not evident head
on). Mounting remnants on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
