Danahar shorts, gloves and a fighting stance. Signed with his "Best Wishes"
in 1939.

blue ink. B/w sepia-toned, 3x5 with thin white border. British boxer
Danahar (1918-1992) was 1937 Amateur Boxing Association champion
and a contender for the British lightweight (Feb. 23, 1939)
welterweight belts (July 5, 1941). His welterweight title fight, against
Eric Boon, was the first televised British title fight. In all, he fought
74 bouts between 1938 and 1947, with a record of 66 wins and 8 losses. 29 of his
wins and 2 of his losses were to knockout. Lightly toned, silvered and bowed.
Signature has low contrast and poor adhesion in places but is legible.
Impressions from tape residue on verso touches signature. Otherwise in fine
condition.
