great benefit of his leadership" Arthur E. Summerfield (1899-1972)
served as chairman of the Republican National Committee in 1952 and
1953. During the 1952 republican National Convention he garnered Michigan
support for Dwight Eisenhower as President, playing a large role in Eisenhower's
nomination. He was rewarded for his work for the party by being appointed
Postmaster General (1953-1961). Mailing fold at center. Lightly toned. Fine
