ARTHUR GREENWOOD. Signature: "Arthur Greenwood", 7x5½. Arthur Greenwood (1880-1954) was a Member of Parliament from 1932-1954. A leader in the Labor Party in the 1920s through the late 1940s, Greenwood served as Minister of Health (1929-1931), Leader of the Opposition (1942-1945), Lord Privy Seal (1945-1947) and Paymaster General (1946-1947). In 1940, Winston Churchill appointed him as a Minister without Portfolio in the British War Cabinet. Greenwood's son, Anthony (1911-1982) was elected to Parliament in 1946. Slightly creased. Lightly soiled at lower right margin. Slightly irregular left edge from removal from bound book. Fine condition.
