The actor signs a contract with the National Broadcasting Company, Inc. to perform on their radio program A Bell for Adano for a fee of $500.00. Stage, screen and television actor Arthur Kennedy (1914-1990), born John Arthur Kennedy, was nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for Bright Victory (1951) and for Best Supporting Actor Oscars for Champion (1949), Trial (1955), Peyton Place (1957) and Some Came Running (1958), and he won the 1949 Tony Award for Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Dramatic) for Death of a Salesman. Kennedy, who began his career on the stage, debuted on Broadway in 1938, and two years later, while playing on stage in California, he was discovered by James Cagney, who cast Kennedy in City for Conquest (1940), the first in a long line of feature films. The versatile character actor's credits include High Sierra (1941), They Died With Their Boots On (1941), The Glass Menagerie (1950), The Desperate Hours (1955), A Summer Place (1959), Elmer Gantry (1960), Barabbas (1962), Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Cheyenne Autumn (1964), Fantastic Voyage (1966) and The Sentinel (1977). Kennedy also appeared in a number of TV anthologies from 1954, and he was later seen in made-for-TV movies. Normal mailing folds. Staple holes at top left. Lightly creased.
