in Physics was shared by ARTHUR L. SCHAWLOW (1921-1999) of Stanford
University and NICOLAAS BLOEMBERGEN (born in 1920) of Harvard
University"for their contribution to the development of laser
spectroscopy" and Swedish physicist KAI SIEGBAHN (1918-2007) "for his
contribution to the development of high-resolution electron spectroscopy".
Spectroscopy is the study of spectra, especially experimental observation of
