ARTHUR PRINCE. Signature: "Arthur Prince/& Jim", irregular 3½x1¼ sheet mounted on thicker paper (3½x1½). Ink note (unknown hand): "1948." Prince (1881-1948) was a Welsh ventriloquist who made his first London appearance in 1902 and later toured America and Australia and performed for King George V. He wore a British naval officer's uniform in his act, which featured the puppet Jim, dressed as a jolly British Tar. Jim was buried with him. Vintage photo. Lightly soiled and slightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
