To "My dear Sir", in full: "I shall be delighted to see you here as you propose on Thursday at 4:30 PM. Yours very kindly". English journalist and humorist Arthur William à Beckett (1844-1909) wrote for Punch magazine (1874-1902) and was editor of the Sunday Times (1891-1895). He wrote several humorous books, beginning with Comic Guide to the Royal Academy (1864). He also wrote to comedy plays, and a novel Fallen Among Thieves (1869). Mailing fold through center. Fine condition.
