belated word of warm appreciation for your good wishes." FELIX
FRANKFURTER (1882-1965) served on the Supreme Court from 1939-1962. He had
replaced Benjamin Cardozo and was replaced by Arthur Goldberg. SAMUEL J.
WOOLF (1880-1948) gained a national reputation
drawing celebrity portraits for "Collier's". Beginning in 1923, his
portraits, along with his written accounts of the sittings, were featured as
"personality interviews" in "The New York Times". Pencil erasure at upper right
corner. Fine condition.
