SUPREME COURT JUSTICES: BENJAMIN N. CARDOZO, LOUIS D. BRANDEIS, and HUGO L. BLACK This framed piece features an autograph of each of the Supreme Court Justices who helped shape the United States Signatures: “Benjamin N. Cardozo/ March 1936” on a 4¼x2¼ card, “Louis D. Brandeis” on a 4x2 card, and “Hugo L. Black” on a 4x2¼ card. Also included in the frame are three plaques and three black and white photographs (4¾x6¾ of each visible). BENJAMIN CARDOZO (1870-1938) was a Supreme Court Justice from 1932 to 1938. He influenced common law from the bench on the New York Court of Appeals from 1917 to 1932. LOUIS D. BRANDEIS (1856-1941) sat on the Supreme Court from 1916 to 1939. He's most famous for developing the idea that Americans have a “right to privacy”. HUGO BLACK (1886-1971) was a United States Senator for 10 years before being nominated to the Supreme Court. He sat on the bench from 1937 to 1971. Black opposed the right to privacy and upheld Japanese-American internment. Fine condition. Framed in the Gallery of History style to a total size of 25x22.
