was Attorney General under Woodrow Wilson (1913-1914), who then appointed him
Associate Justice of the Supreme Court (1914-1941). McReynolds was a staunch
opponent of President Franklin Roosevelt's "New Deal," often joining with
Justices Sutherland, Van DeVanter and Butler to oppose measures like the
Tennessee Valley Authority, the National Industrial Recovery Act and Social
Security. Lightly toned and worn at corners. Paperclip impression at upper
margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
