Religion Freedom from Want and Fear. John Paul Stevens (1920-2019) was Judge of the
U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit before being sworn in as an Associate Justice
of the U.S. Supreme Court on December 19, 1975. Appointed by President Gerald Ford to
replace William O. Douglas, the Republican began serving under Chief Justice Warren E.
Burger, continuing under Chief Justices Rehnquist and Roberts. Mini biography attached on
verso (no show through). Fine condition.
