Signature: "Joseph P. Bradley/Justice Sup Ct. U.S.". 4x2¼ card. Bradley (1813-1892), appointed by President Ulysses S. Grant to the Supreme Court in 1870, served on the 1877 Electoral Commission created to decide the outcome of the disputed 1876 presidential election; his vote made Rutherford B. Hayes the President. He served as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court until his death. Lightly toned, soiled and creased. Adhesive residue at left edge, which touches signature, and on verso (no show-through). Otherwise in fine condition.
