(one surface).Engraving of the U. S. Supreme Court. Three cent National
Capital Sesquicentennial of the U. S. Supreme Court stamp affixed at upper
right. Special Assistant in the Justice Department (1937-1943) and Assistant
Attorney General (1943-1945) under FDR, Clark (1899-1977) was appointed
Attorney General by Truman in 1945 and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in
1949. When his son Ramsey was appointed Attorney General by LBJ in 1967, Tom
C. Clark resigned as Associate Justice to avoid any possible conflict of
interest. Fine condition.
