Inscribed program signed "Best wishes to Jim/Tom C. Clark/11/3/73" in blue ink. 4 pages including covers, 5x7¼, 1 sheet folded, front and verso. Program for The Honorable William O. Douglas Anniversary Convocation in Washington, DC on Nov. 3, 1973. Clark gave the opening remarks at this event, which included two panels and speeches by Chief Justice Warren E. Burger and former Chief of Justice Earl Warren. Clark (1899-1977, born in Dallas, Texas) was President Truman's Attorney General (1945-1949) before being appointed to the Supreme Court by President Truman in 1949. He served until 1967, when he retired after his son Ramsey, was appointed Attorney General by President Johnson. Lightly creased and soiled. Lightly rounded corners. Otherwise in fine condition.
