Youthful black and white photograph of the Academy Award winning actress shown from the chest up wearing a sweater.
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Daniel/Good Luck/Audrey Hepburn". B/w, 9¼x7¼. The blue-blood daughter of a wealthy English banker and a Dutch baroness, Audrey Hepburn (1929-1993), born Audrey Kathleen Ruston in Belgium, was a natural for her American film debut as Princess Anne in Roman Holiday (1953). Hepburn, who won the Academy Award for her portrayal in the film, was nominated for Best Actress Oscars four more times (for Sabrina, The Nun's Story, Breakfast at Tiffany's and Wait Until Dark). A graceful, slender, classic beauty known for her style, Hepburn charmed leading men, directors and the public alike in her 31 high quality films, which also included Funny Face and My Fair Lady. Also a great humanitarian, Hepburn served as UNICEF Ambassador from 1988-1992, helping needy children in Africa and Latin America until shortly before her death. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992 and in 1994 she was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Ink lightly smudged. Stray ink mark at upper left blank margin. Worn at edges. Overall, fine condition.
