8x10. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, the first of three (to
date) spy spoofs starring Mike Myers, was released in 1997. The films parodied
not only James Bond-type spy movies, but also the pop culture of the late 1960s,
when fashion designer/spy Powers had been cryogenically frozen. Saturday
Night Live alumnus MIKE MYERS, who also produced the film and wrote
the screenplay, also played the villain, Dr. Evil. Before becoming Austin
Powers, Myers played the title role in Wayne's World, a character he had
created for SNL. English actress/model/Estee Lauder spokeswoman
ELIZABETH HURLEY played Powers' sidekick, Vanessa Kensington. She
reappeared in the first sequel, Austin Powers: the Spy Who Shagged Me
(1999), but was killed off shortly after the opening credits. Hurley made an
alluring Satan in Bedazzled (2000). In recent years she's been busy
television acting, seen in Gossip Girl (2011-2012) and
Wonder Woman (2011) the TV movie. Slightly creased. Otherwise,
fine condition.
