Album leaf signed by Collier's and Saturday Evening Post cartoonist Bandel Linn in Sarasota, Florida in 1947. With an original ink drawing of himself in his Shaggy Dog disguise
Inscribed original art signed "Self Portrait/of/Bandel Linn/Drawn for/Althea Boxell/Sarasota Fla/Sept 4, 1947". Pencil notations at left edge in unknown hand. 6x4½ album leaf with rounded right edges and binder holes with reinforcers at left edge. Linn (1911-1988) was an American cartoonist whose cartoons appeared in Collier's and The Saturday Evening Post. He also drew cartoons for magazine ads, created animations for TV commercials and appeared on Sarasota radio. Lightly toned and creased. Discoloration along top, right and bottom edge, which touches drawing but not signature. Removed neatly from album binding at left edge. Paper clip notations at top edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
