Barbara Leigh was the first Vampirella model, selected to play the part in a series of films to be made by Jim Warren (of Warren Comics) and Hammer Films (the films were never made, supposedly due to financial difficulties, devastating Leigh, who had spent $7,000 for her costume and $2,000 for her boots). Leigh made her first appearance as the character in 1975 at the Famous Monster Convention, and graced the covers of seven "Vampirella" comic books. Leigh also dated Elvis Presley and appeared in the film, Junior Bonner, with Steve McQueen. Slightly creased at upper and lower right corner. Photographer's stamp on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
