Signature: "Barbara/Parkins" in black ink. Signed on a 5x3 card 3x2½ visible. Matted to 11x14 with an unsigned color magazine photograph (3¾x9¼ visible). Actress Barbara Parkins was born on May 22, 1942 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. After moving to California as a teenager she worked as an actress and appeared on episodes of several television shows like Leave it to Beaver (1961), Wagon Train (1961) and Perry Mason (1962). In 1964 she landed the role of Betty Anderson Cord on one of television's original soap operas Peyton Place, appearing in 439 episodes from 1964 to 1969. She was then cast as the lead character, Anne Welles, in the 1967 film Valley of Dolls. In the film she co-starred with actress Sharon Tate and the two became close friends. Perkins was a bridesmaid at Tate's wedding to director Roman Polansky. After Tate's tragic murder, Parkins moved to London, England where she began appearing on BBC shows and starring in international films. Some of her international films include the Swedish Puppet on a Chain (1971), Canada's Christina (1974) and the Dutch Shout at the Devil (1976). Parkins continued to act in American and international films and television up to 1998. Matt lightly worn at edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
