Photograph signed: "Barbara Stanwyck". Autopen signature of co-star Ronald Reagan. B/w, 10x8¼ overall, image 9½x7¼ (one surface). Publicity still from the 1958 re-release of the 1954 Western, Cattle Queen of Montana, which starred Stanwyck as Sierra Nevada Jones and Reagan as government agent Farrell. ©1958, RKO Radio Pictures. Captioned at lower margin. This film, which was filmed on location at Montana's Glacier National Park, was briefly reissued theatrically after Reagan was elected President in 1980. Reagan, who had been under contract to Warner Bros. since 1937, later signed a contract that allowed him to work for other studios while continuing to make one film per year for Warners at half his former salary. Orphaned at four and a Ziegfeld chorus girl at 15, Barbara Stanwyck (1907-1990) was a Broadway star by the late 1920s. Moving to Hollywood after 1930, she was often cast as a tough-minded working girl who rarely met a happy ending. Stanwyck received Oscar nominations for Stella Dallas (1937), Ball of Fire (1941), Double Indemnity (1944) and Sorry, Wrong Number (1948). She earned renewed popularity on television, especially as the star of the Western series, The Big Valley (1965-1969), for which she won an Emmy. Lightly creased at blank margins. Minor surface creases (most not evident head on). Overall, fine condition.
