BARBRA STREISAND
Barbra Streisand signed this contract to appear in her 1986 One Voice concert, a fundraiser for Democratic Senate candidates. An album of this concert was released in 1987 and peaked inside the Top 10 on the charts; it went on to sell 2.1 million copies.
Contract signed "Barbra Streisand" twice. 4 pages, 8½x11, single-sided sheets. Sept. 4, 1986. Streisand signed this contract with Barwood Films, Ltd. to appear in her One Voice concert, to be videotaped on Sept. 6, 1986. She was to be paid $747 for this appearance... a remarkably small amount, as tickets reportedly went for $5,000 per couple. One Voice, initially aired on TV on Dec. 27, 1986, was a fundraiser for Democratic Senate candidates held in her home in Malibu, California. Occasionally preachy (as political fundraisers tend to be), Streisand nevertheless delivered the goods to her fans with songs from The Way We Were, A Star is Born, Guily, Yentl and The Broadway Album. A live album from this concert - her first live album in 14 years - was released in 1987. It sold 2.1 million copies and peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 200 charts. Streisand, born Barbara Joan Streisand in Brooklyn, New York in 1942, has won five Grammy Awards for Best Female Pop Vocalist and one for Best Song for writing, with Paul Williams, Evergreen. In 1970, she won a Special Tony Award for Star of the Decade. She won the 1968 Academy Award for Best Actress and the 1976 Academy Award for writing the Best Song ("Evergreen"), the only person ever to win both. Streisand won Emmy Awards for My Name is Barbra (1965) and Barbra Streisand: The Concert (1995). She also directs. Lightly toned and creased. Staple holes in top left corner. Otherwise in fine condition. at this concert
