BARRY MANILOW The Grammy- and Emmy- winning singer/composer signs an acoustic guitar. Guitar signed: "Barry Manilow". Wood-finished Crescent six-string acoustic guitar, in blue fabric carrying case with strap. Signed on the body in blue felt tip. A former pianist and arranger for Bette Midler, multi-talented musician, composer and singer Barry Manilow, born Barry Alan Pincus in 1943, had a string of No. 1 singles in the adult contemporary market between 1974 ("Mandy") and 1983 ("Read 'em And Weep"). Manilow, who has sold more than 75 million records worldwide, won a Grammy Award for Pop Male Vocal for "Cocabana" in 1978. Later in his career, he emphasized swing and traditional pop music, and Manilow found commercial success with his renditions of classic "oldies". His album, The Greatest Songs of the Sixties (2006), the sequel to The Greatest Songs of the Fifties, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts. Also the winner of several Emmy Awards, Manilow won an Emmy for Outstanding Performance in a Variety or Music Program for Barry Manilow: Music and Passion (2006), a fund-raiser for PBS that was also nominated for an additional Emmy. The program was a taped presentation of his show at the Las Vegas  Hilton, where Manilow has been headlining since February 2005. Fine condition. Authenticated by Roger Epperson.
