BARRY McGUIGAN
Signed photograph of the Belfast boxer raising his arm in victory in the ring.
Photograph signed: "Barry McGuigan", in blue ink. B/w, 8x10 overall, 4x6 image (one surface). Born in the Irish Republic, Barry McGuigan did much of his fighting in Belfast, Northern Ireland. A Catholic who married a Protestant and condemned sectarian violence, he inspired the slogan, "Leave the fighting to Barry." European featherweight champ from 1983 and WBA title holder 1985-1986, McGuigan considered retirement after sending opponent Young Ali of Nigeria into a terminal coma, but he decided to remain in the ring. He retired for good in 1989 with a record of 32-3, including 26 knockouts, and was enshrined in the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2005. He has been a talk show host and boxing commentator in Britain. Fine condition.
